Lake Superior College to Host Firefighting and Truck Driving Open House November 12 at 91ɬÂþ’s Emergency Response Training Center

Learn about Lake Superior College’s firefighting and truck driving programs and tour the Emergency Response Training Center at 91ɬÂþ’s Firefighting and Truck Driving Open House on Thursday, November 12, 2020 3-6 p.m., at the Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC), 11501 Highway 23, Duluth, MN 55808.

  • Check out the firefighting equipment, trucks and burn box metropolis, which is one of the few of its kind (multi-story) in the Upper-Midwest

Interested in becoming a truck driver? With the strong demand for professional truck drivers throughout our region, job placement from the Lake Superior College truck driving program is nearly 100%. 91ɬÂþ’s truck driving program is now run through the Continuing Education and Customized Training (CECT) department, with increased flexibility, meaning you can earn your commercial driver’s license (CDL) and be on the road in as little as seven weeks.

Interested in becoming a firefighter? Learn more about the skills, aptitude and physical fitness needed to become a fire fighter by talking directly with experienced fire fighters. Tour 91ɬÂþ's firefighting facilities, including practice burn box areas, and suit up with turn-out gear. The need for trained firefighters continues to grow throughout the region, as many local fire departments are experiencing an increase in retirements and are, and/or soon will be, recruiting and hiring new firefighters.

In accordance with 91ɬÂþ’s COVID-19 Back-To-Campus Preparedness Plan, masks and social distancing are required on any 91ɬÂþ campus location and all guests will be asked to complete an online COVID-19 Screening survey. RSVPs are required and tours will be spaced out and limited to small groups. An admissions representative will explain details and next steps after those interested in attending RSVP to the Open House.
