Your Mental Health Matters!
A new school year can be an exciting time as it brings a fresh start with new opportunities for learning and growth. It can also be a stressful time as we work to adapt to new routines, adjustments to academic demands, financial pressures, and changes in social support. There are several things that we can do to help us manage these stressors and support our mental and physical health and wellbeing:
|

|
- Establish Routines. Work to develop a consistent sleep schedule, create a consistent study schedule in a dedicated study space, and have regular mealtimes to help manage energy.
- Prioritize Healthy Habits.Healthy, balanced diets can help improve mood and energy. Regular exercise helps reduce stress and improve well-being. Mindfulness and relaxation strategies like deep breathing or meditation help manage anxiety and stress.
- Build a Supportive Network.Social connections are necessary for our health and wellbeing so working to foster new and/or existing friendships, participating in clubs or group activities, and reaching out to trusted supports to share our feelings and concerns helps us reduce stress and feelings of isolation.
- Reach out. There are many supports and services at 91ɬÂþ that can help, including access to free, confidential mental health care. Both in person and virtual options are available.
To schedule an in person appointment on campus please contact Amy Fullerton, LPCC at [email protected] or [email protected].
A number of digital services including therapy, coaching, and 24/7 crisis assistance are available at .
