The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year?
A 2021 survey revealed that 3 in 5 Americans feel the holidays negatively impact their mental health. Increased stress, grief, or feelings of loneliness can make this season especially challenging.
Prioritizing time to take care of ourselves and our mental health is therefore especially important during this season. Here are just a few suggestions:

1. Accept and acknowledge your range of feelings, giving yourself compassion and allowing yourself to experience whatever emotions are present for you.
2. Keep up your healthy habits. Try to get enough sleep, move your body and fuel it with nutritious food.
3. Set boundaries. It’s ok to say no or to set limits around your time and financial resources.
4. Connect. Make time for important relationships, including time for self-care. Connecting with loved ones who are no longer with us through a favorite tradition or special remembrance or ritual can be helpful and deeply meaningful.
5. Seek out support. Therapy support is available through 91ɬÂþ’s EAP and there are many local providers and resources to assist you. Please feel free to contact Human Resources or Amy Fullerton if you have questions.
